Question :
How is DPO technology different from persistence?
Answer :
DPO technology operates in real time. Consequently a DPO is able to display more information, display it faster and with varying intensity. This means a better, more lively display. Persistence does not increase the oscilloscope acquisition rate and since all points are initially displayed with a single intensity, it is difficult to observe waveform subtleties or quick changes in the signal. DPO presents a brighter trace in areas where the trace spends more time. Persistence presents a brighter trace where the trace was last. DPO presents many more traces over time than persistence.
