Do I have to install DriverLINX for just a simple digital on/off?

Question :

Do I have to install DriverLINX for just a simple digital on/off?

Answer :

Direct register control by use of Port95nt is a good alternative for minimal I/O requirements and will work in Win9x or WinNT with ISA cards. An example program in VB is available. In addition, DriverLINX provides two other API for using your digital I/O board. For PCI boards in Win9x, there is an IO Emulator which allows the ports to be accessed though port I/O commands (_inp and _outp). DriverLINX also provides a COM object for Direct IO. See the DriverLINX manual for your particular digital I/O card for more information on selecting an API.
