Rental Partners to Help Fulfill Market Demand For Record-Breaking Test and Measurement Equipment
BEAVERTON, Ore., April 11, 2005 - Tektronix, Inc. (NYSE: TEK), a leading worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, announced that world's fastest oscilloscopes have been shipping in volume for several weeks. In addition to fulfilling direct customer orders, three leading rental partners in the US and Canada - Continental Resources, Electro Rent and TRS-RenTelco - are among the first to stock units of the TDS6000C family of digital storage oscilloscopes (DSO) - the 12 GHz TDS6124C and 15 GHz TDS6154C. The rental partner strategy will enable immediate off-the-shelf availability for short-term rentals of these critical units. These companies are now in position to satisfy customer requests for TDS6000C oscilloscopes.
Engineers are tasked with developing the next-generation systems that operate at serial data rates in excess of 4 Gb/s and need access to equipment that will help facilitate their design processes. The TDS6000C family of products facilitates critical troubleshooting and design validation tasks in the computing, communications, and consumer electronics industries enabling customers to complete designs for second-generation serial data standards such as PCI-Express Gen II, SATAIII and double XAUI. Rental partner relationships play a key role for Tektronix in addressing early market demand for leading-edge test and measurement instruments.
"Our rental partners play a critical role in helping to get products into the hands of customers needing solutions for high-speed serial data applications," said Chris Loberg, market development manager, Tektronix, Inc. "We're excited to be shipping the new TDS6124C and TDS6154C with the highest bandwidth and the longest record length at maximum sample rate offering customers uncompromised industry-leading performance for the most demanding applications."
What Tektronix Rental Partners Have to Say
"Our Test and Measurement Division provides state-of-the-art test and measurement instrumentation to a wide variety of customers," said Keith Cornish, Vice President of the Test and Measurement Division, Continental Resources. "Everyday we're working with our customers to ensure we're providing the most current and capability instruments to help them do their job. With the record breaking TDS6000C family of oscilloscopes featuring the lowest random jitter noise floor in the industry we knew customer demand would be high, so we're excited to be one of the first rental partners to have stock on hand for our customers."
"At Electro Rent Corporation we are committed to providing customers with immediate access to the most up-to-date technology and we knew that with the launch of the TDS6000C - 12 and 15 GHz oscilloscopes - this was a new class of instrument designed to meet customer needs for higher bandwidth in support of serial data standards validation," said Rick Bernosky, Vice President of Product Management, Electro Rent Corporation. "Customers are already inquiring about availability and want to be among the first to get their hands on one of the TDS6000C family of oscilloscopes."
"As the largest test and measurement rental company in North America, we are thrilled to be among the first to provide these cutting-edge instruments to the market," said John Skenesky, Director of Product Management and Operations, TRS-RenTelco. "With the TDS6000C family of oscilloscopes, we will be able to provide our customers with industry-leading features and state-of-the-art performance at all stages of high-speed IC and board-level design, validation, compliance, and debug.
