Allion Computer Inc. / NSTL Asia Selects Tektronix TDS6804B Oscilloscope to Boost Lab Capabilities

Leading IT Testing Organization Will Use TDS6804B for PCI-Express and SATA Compliance Tests

BEAVERTON, Ore., February 28, 2005 - Tektronix, Inc. (NYSE: TEK), a leading worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, today announced that Allion Computer Inc., also known as National Software Testing Labs (NSTL) Asia, has purchased the Tektronix TDS6804B Digital Storage Oscilloscope (DSO) for compliance testing of PCI Express, SATA and SATA II.

Allion Computer / NSTL Asia is Asia's first independent testing organization - and part of one of the largest IT testing organizations - dedicated to test computer hardware and software. For more than ten years, Allion has endeavored to provide the best testing service, and holds a high reputation within the industry. Its service offering includes certified logos and standards programs, wireless and mobile devices, outsourced testing labs, e-commerce testing, custom hardware and software testing, and IT procurement. Approval with professional certification by NSTL not only underscores the quality of the product but also helps boost the product's recognition in its industry.

As an exclusive IT testing Lab, Allion computer tests thousands of products in categories such as desktop and notebook computers, multimedia devices, wireless devices, servers, mobile phones and various peripherals. To perform these testing assignments with high efficiency and precision, Allion Computer established an advanced test and measurement platform with a full spectrum of application solutions, in which the Tektronix TDS6804B now plays a very important role for compliance test and design verification. Also used within the lab are the Tektronix TDS694C Digital Storage Oscilloscope, DG2040 Data Pattern Generator and WCA380 Real-Time Wireless Communications Analyzer to perform USB compliance tests and Wi-Fi compliance tests.

"Denser competition in the IT industry is driving new standards to emerge quickly," said Summer Chien, president of Allion Computer Inc. "More than ever, our clients attempt to integrate more standards into one system. Facing this challenge, we really need a powerful testing platform with rich application solutions to expedite our work. The impressive performance of TDS6804B and professional training support Tektronix supplied helped our engineers quickly build up the problem solving capability with confidence. More importantly the Tektronix equipment is easy to operate, provides accurate measurement results, and generates fast and reliable test reports."

Over 150 engineers test over 10,000 products in the Allion Computer labs every year. Allion Computer estimates that the total quantity of testing assignments will increase by 20% per year for the next several years. Most of these product test assignments involve USB 2.0 compliance, Wi-Fi certification, SATA and PCI Express compliance, etc. With the emergence of new standards such as SATA III and PCI-Express II in coming years, the complexity of these tests will also rise significantly.

"We are pleased to assist Allion Computer / NSTL Asia with technology and testing domain expertise," said Bob Agnes, Vice President of Tektronix, Asia Pacific.
