It’s that time of year again, National Engineers Week, running from today through Feb. 27. Here at Tektronix we value and respect all our hard-working engineers and wish to take this opportunity to celebrate your contributions. Your dedication knows no bounds and your intelligence is unparalleled. Ok, maybe that’s stretching things a bit, but not by much.
Although, National Engineers Week comes around just once a year, Tektronix always values our engineers. This week is just an excuse to acknowledge all your great work and dedication. We wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for you and neither would many of the great innovations and conveniences that make our lives better on a daily basis.
National Engineers Week was launched in 1951 by the Society of Professional Engineers to honor George Washington, who many consider to be the world’s first engineer. In fact, the celebration encompasses Washington’s birthday, which is February 22. The week is observed by over 70 engineering, education and cultural societies, including 50 corporations and government agencies throughout the United States.
The week-long celebration pays tribute to the many ways engineers make a difference in the world. National Engineers week is all about honoring the hard-working engineers and encouraging the next generation to follow in the same footsteps.
Here’s to you. Keep up the great work!
