Over September 12-17, Tektronix was over in Amsterdam, taking part in IBC, the International Broadcasting Convention. As the premier annual event for professional who create, manage and deliver entertainment and news content worldwide, IBC attracts over 50,000 attendees from over 170 countries. Tektronix was one of 1,400 suppliers of state-of-the-art electronic media technology to participate in the exhibition – and exhibit we did! In fact, Tektronix announced the following three exciting new products at the conference!
The Industry’s First Cloud-Based QC Platform
First up, Tektronix announced QCloud, a cloud-based Quality Control (QC) Software Subscription Platform that is optimized for deployment on Amazon Web Services (AWS). An industry first (!), QCloud is a fully automated Cloud QC platform that ensures the integrity, compliance and quality of media in a Cloud workflow. QCloud is a highly flexible solution, ideal for production, post production, broadcast and online video service market segments that operate file-based workflows on AWS and other cloud platforms.
HEVC Standard Support Now Available For AVC (H.264) Video and Audio Analyzer
The new MTS4EAV7 HEVC / AVC Video and Audio Analyzer, an upgrade to the MTS4EA AVC (Advanced Video Coding) Video and Audio Analyzer was also announced at the show. This improvement adds support for the new High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) /H.265 standard. Combining the MTS4EAV7’s robust Elementary Stream analysis capabilities with HEVC support enables manufacturers and designers of hardware and software video encoders, mobile video devices, and semiconductor devices to develop next generation video products for HD mobile video, over-the-top (OTT) video and Ultra HD (4K) broadcast applications which adopt the new HEVC technology.
Automatic Changeover Units Added to Next Generation Master Sync and Master Clock System
Last, Tektronix was excited to announce the worldwide availability of its new automatic changeover units, the ECO8000 and ECO8020. The units are made for deployment with the Tektronix SPG8000 Master Sync and Master Clock Reference Generator, which together form the most advanced sync generator system available. Modern broadcast facilities, post production facilities and mobile trucks will love the ECO8000 and EC08020’s exceptional stability, reliability and high availability.
